While I was gone I made a big decision as far as my little online businesses go. I decided that I would merge both my handmade and vintage shops into one shop that will carry much more selective vintage items, many of them reconstructed by me, as well as some new handmade products like the collars, some other accessories and possibly some newly designed dolls (less felt, more cotton and vintage fabrics).
In preparation for this big change I've been doing a few things. One thing I did right away was put nearly everything in the vintage shop on sale in order to try to make space for the new stock. There are some excellent deals in there (lots of stuff at $10 and $15) so take a look and see if anything takes your fancy!
I've also been rabidly altering new pieces and working on collars - I've tweaked the design so that they close with a ribbon instead of snaps which makes them a bit more adjustable. Lots of exciting stuff going on in my brain and with my sewing machine right now.

I'll leave you with the above picture of one of my recent alterations - I took a long floral dress that was in the shop, altered it and added a permanent peter pan collar! There will be lots of things like this in the shop once the overhaul is complete. I have a very special event taking place next weekend after which all will be revealed - keep your eyes peeled!

Wow,the dress is lovely! You really did a great job at altering it. I wish I knew how to sew.

Thanks Linh! The sewing I do is super basic stuff, shortening a dress is possibly the easiest thing to do on a sewing machine and makes such a big difference. I'm sure there are plenty of youtube and other online tutorials that will teach you how in no time at all!
I'm following your blog now, by the way, as I stopped by and liked what I saw :)
I will definitely follow your advice. And thanks for your encouragement. Keep up the good work!
