So here it is: my office/studio/whatever you wanna call it. It seems very one sided and sparse because both full walls are what I use as backdrops for photoshoots. Young Captive on one wall, Fever and Few on the other! In my dreams there's a huge amazing area rug taking up all that empty floor space, but I'm going to have to thrift a miracle or make lots of money before that happens.
Empty wall for shooting vintage photos, busy space for working. The entire room was painted this pale yellow when I moved in and I left the trim + front wall that colour. Now the room has a "buttered popcorn" colour scheme..or at least that's how I like to think of it.
this is part of my little parcel packing station. packing materials are all on this shelf and i use the table below to wrap everything! amazing owl by Cat Rabbit, little pieces by myself and Devon Smith
I used to have a massive desk, which I thought I needed. Now I have a tiny desk (slide-out holds my wacom tablet, sketchbooks, etc) and I love it.
Those windows are a big part of why I wanted this place. Little Devon Smith piece here too.
Across from the empty wall where I take photos for Young Captive is this one where I photograph scarves (on a corkboard I painted white) & clothes on the hanger. I am constantly reaching for/losing measuring tapes so I made them a home at the bottom of the corkboard.
This gives you a bit of an idea of the layout of the place - the door furthest to the left leads to the hallway and you can see my front door there. Archway leads to the bedroom. The doorway from the bedroom to the hall is opposite the bathroom door. The people who lived here before took all these doors off so I've left it that way - it's beautifully open and only slightly annoying when I can't lock my loudly meowing cat out of the bedroom at 5 AM.
Sneak peek at my unfinished bedroom. I love how the two rooms together feel like an open loft, having that "best of both worlds" feeling is my favourite part of the apartment. Screenprint by local lovely Audrey Malo in the corner there.
Just a detail of one of my favourite little bits. A side table my mum decoupaged in the '70s.
Can't wait to get the bedroom finished and show better photos of it! There's also an extra room in the front that's currently storage-y but will be a dressing room for models and anyone coming over to try on clothes. Eventually it'll become Nick's office when he moves in. Yep.
