work wear pt. 2

I gotta say, I am pretty proud of Stef and I for not bailing on this "work wear" plan by week one! We both put in a little bit of extra effort today (just slightly more effort than it takes to pull on the ol' jeans) and in the end I felt really good about our little plot. Both of us were super self conscious despite our seemingly plain outfits and admittedly I took my belt off after the photo because I had the afternoon slouchies, but we did get a few compliments and by the end of the day I was feeling a lot more comfortable. We planned to order a nice lunch (sushi, yum) and then stealthily make our way into the big empty back room (17th floor, tons of windows, it would have been awesome) only to find a secretary napping in there with a scarf tied around her head (ummm..). So we opted for one of the photocopying rooms to stage our mini-shoot. We tried to avoid having people see us but did have to deal with one secretary mocking "euh, c'est pour mettre sur Facebook?" or "fayce-bouuuuk" as the French Canadians say. In the end it wasn't too traumatizing and I'm actually sort of looking forward to next week :)

cutie pie Stef wore:
-H&M black ruffle blouse
-H&M skirt
-Zara cardigan
-adorable Vans oxfords that her boyfriend got her for Christmas

I wore:
-Zara dress (got it on sale during boxing week)
-H&M cardigan
-vintage belt
-AA tights
-generic black flats from some outlet store in NH
-vintage enamel daisy pin, which sadly is being blasted with light from the binding station I'm standing next to!

& Just for fun (and to make me hungry again...) here are a few snaps of our lunch today:

om nom nom. that miso soup was to die for.

avocado maki & dragon rolls with eel. nom.

this was pretty weird- they gave us KETCHUP with our spring rolls. we thought it would be plum sauce but our mouths were surprised and confused upon dipping & munching.

Stay tuned for another edition of ~work wear~ next week, unless we get very lazy.
